Bibles and Badges for Babies event

The first “Bibles and Badges for Babies” event was held Sept. 17, 2016 at the Elks Lodge in Waynesville. Officials with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office played in a softball game against local church leaders, all to benefit the Micah Raelynn Foundation. Kandace Best Boone started the foundation in the summer of 2015 after losing her baby girl, Micah Raelynn, to SIDS.

The foundation focuses on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) awareness, prevention and support. The foundation’s mission is to ensure a healthier outcome for babies in the community through education and empowerment and to provide empathy and encouragement to families in the event a loss should occur.
